Laparoscopic Surgery

We perform all basic and many advanced laparoscopic surgeries. Laparoscopic surgery for appendicitis, gall bladder stones, laparoscopic hernia surgery for incisional hernia (IPOM), inguinal hernia (TEP, TAPP), laparoscopic colorectal surgery  and diagnostic laparoscopy for pain abdomen & chronic abdominal diseases are regularly performed.  

Also known as minimal access surgery it is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through very small incisions (usually 5 -10 mm) as opposed to the larger incisions used in conventional open abdominal surgeries. 

In Laparoscopic surgery a telescope is passed inside the abdomen through a 5 - 10 mm key hole size incision near umbilicus. The camera attached to the telescope displays magnified images of the interior on TV monitors. Other working instruments are then passed inside the abdomen through strategically placed 5-10 mm incisions and the operation is performed under image guidance. 

The advantages of laparoscopic surgery over open surgery are small size of incision, better cosmetics, reduced postoperative pain, less bleeding, less infections, less adhesion formation, shorter hospital stay and early recovery after surgery.
